Improving safety in Germany’s chemical and wastewater management industries

How to stay connected and prevent gas-related risks in Germany’s industrial sectors

Despite improved technology to detect and limit exposure to dangerous gases, deaths and accidents continue to occur in workplaces around the world.

Estimates from a joint study1 by the World Health Organization and International Labour Organization found work-related diseases and injuries were responsible for the deaths of 1.9m in one 12-month period alone. Of that, 450,000 were the result of workplace exposure to particulate matter, gases and fumes.

Safety professionals across the globe have an obligation to protect workers from hazards of all types, including potentially dangerous gas leaks and exposures. They are also expected to help shield their organisations from unnecessary disruption.
